STATEMENT: Cyclone Gabrielle by Wellington Interfaith Council

We send aroha to all those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our prayers go out to all the people impacted, to those displaced, and to those providing help in often dangerous circumstances.

We acknowledge the people who have lost loved ones and those who are still seeking to contact whanau.

We are saddened to see the damage to people’s homes, communities, their livelihoods, and their places of gathering and worship.

The members of the Council send everyone their love, and hope for strength to those who continue to face challenges in this time of crisis, fear, uncertainty, and loss.

Kia kaha, Kia maia, Kia manawanui

Be strong, be brave, be steadfast.
